Sometimes texting is easier than back and forth emails. I'll never send you promotional texts or spam of any kind.

FAQ about my Photography Services

How do I book a photo shoot?

The first step of my process with every client is a quick intro phone call. For weddings, I prefer an in-person meeting to better get to know you, usually at a coffee shop.

Once we discuss the details of your event or photo shoot, I'll send you a contract and an invoice. Sometimes full payment is due up front, other times half is due up front as a retainer, and the remainder is due on the date of your event. Once a payment is made and the contract is signed, your booking is confirmed on my calendar. Retainers and other payments are non-refundable.

For weddings and events, I'll also send you a brief questionnaire. This is just to verify everything we discussed in person, and to make sure nothing is missed. I'll also request a secondary contact person who will be available for me to get in touch with on the date of your wedding or event, just in case you can't get to your phone.

Your photos will be delivered to you through a digital gallery, or whichever delivery method is agreed upon in our contract. Timing of delivery also depends on our contract, but for portraits delivery is *usually* within 2 weeks, and wedding photos are *usually* delivered within 2 months. I also often include "sneak peaks" for weddings - a small collection of 10 to 15 photos delivered within 5 business days.

What kinds of events do you shoot?

I offer photography for

- Weddings
- Birthday Parties
- Anniversary Celebrations
- Religious Ceremonies
- Corporate & Commercial Events
- Award Ceremonies
- Graduation Ceremonies & Parties
- School Events, like Prom & Homecoming
- Festivals (without lasers)
- Concerts (without lasers)
- Holiday Parties
- New Years Eve Parties
- Adult Parties

If you think your event falls into some other category, just reach out! I offer photography for events of all types.

Please be aware, if you book me for an "engagement party" or some other party, but the event is actually a wedding ceremony or reception, you'll be billed for, and contractually obligated to pay, my Wedding Photography rates, which start at a minimum of $5995.

I do not take my camera out of the bag if laser lights, LIDAR, or other laser technologies are in use, for any reason. Lasers permanently damage and ruin cameras. Refunds will not be provided if I show up to photograph an event and am unable to perform services due to the use of lasers.

How many images will I receive?

Quality over quantity! The number of images you receive depends on our agreement. For portraits, I usually provide clients with 8 to 15 hand-edited photos. For Weddings, I usually provide 50 photos per hour of photography. More photos are always available for purchase, and we can work out special packages based on your needs.

Where are you based?

I'm based in metro Detroit, and serve Ann Arbor, Royal Oak, Livonia, Richmond, St. Clair, and other surrounding areas. I do travel outside of these areas for a fee, so if you need me in Kalamazoo, Cleveland, or even Tampa Bay, just get in touch with me and we can work out the details.

Do you travel or offer destination wedding photography?

Yes! I usually serve the Detroit and Ann Arbor areas, but I also travel as far as Kalamazoo, Cleveland, and beyond.

I'm also sometimes available in the Tampa Bay area - just reach out to see if our calendars align.

If you need photography in other locations, such as for destination wedding photography or multi-day events, and you're able to pay for all travel costs, please don't hesitate to reach out to check my availability.

How long is a typical portrait photography session?

For typical individual portraits in a single outfit, like headshots, grad portraits, prom portraits, or modeling digitals, I usually recommend a mini session, which is 20 minutes.

For families and more elaborate portrait photo shoots, such as artistic photo shoots, outdoor couple photo shoots, or portrait sessions with multiple outfits or multiple locations, I recommend a 60 or 90 minute session.

What is your turnaround time?

Proper editing takes time and attention to detail.

For Weddings, I provide a sneak-peak gallery of 10 to 15 edited photos within 5 business days. Remaining photos are delivered within 8 weeks, unless otherwise stated in our contract.

For Portraits, photos are delivered within 2 weeks. Rush turnaround is available for a fee.

If you need photos delivered same-day, next-day, or on some other schedule, we can discuss your needs and I'll put together a customized quote if I can accommodate your request.

Do you offer prints?

Yes, I offer prints for purchase, and can customize a package of prints just for you.

You can also order professional high quality prints right from within your private photo gallery, with a variety of options like archival quality and fine art papers, canvas, acrylics, metal, glass, and wood. Framing options are also available.

How are photos delivered?

I deliver photos to my clients through a personalized online gallery, where you can download full quality photos, order prints, share photos and more. For a fee, I can mail you a USB drive with all of your photos.

Your photos are delivered as full-quality JPEG files, which can be easily printed, shared, and viewed on any device. TIFF files are also available upon request.

Photos are delivered in the sRGB color space, unless AdobeRGB is requested. Film photography is always delivered in sRGB.

RAW photo files are not provided unless otherwise contractually agreed upon.

Do you have a studio or work on-location?

I have an in-home studio for some portrait, product, and fine art photography.

I also travel with my gear for on-location studio setups and in-home sessions.

For most product photography, I ask that you mail or deliver your products to me directly, where I'll take my time getting every detail perfect.
